Olight 1" Weapons Light Mount Review

For a while I've been wanting to add a light to my M4 and finally bit the bullet on a mounting solution.
I looked at a variety of different options, but eventually chose to purchase the Olight 1 inch mount, since it was not only cheap but looked simple in construction.
Olight generally also seems to have some pretty decent quality so I decided to just chance it.
If it was terrible, well, I wouldn't be out a lot of money, so why not, eh?

As it turns out, the Olight mount is not terrible at all.
It works quite well actually!

The mount is very simple. Using three hex-bolts, it clamps onto any Picatinny or Weaver rail.
It does so very securely. The mount itself is made from hard-anodized aluminum, and has the Olight logo emblazoned on it. It comes in any color you want, as long as it's black!
It's fairly substantial, in the sense that it has a decent amount of material in, which makes it sturdy enough to where I really have no concerns about it failing on me.
But it's not so heavy as to be problematic. I really didn't notice any real change in balance of my M4 once the light was mounted on it.
And the mounting itself is rock-solid.
There's really nothing bad to say about this mount!

Yeah, I know the logo is upside down, but oh well.
This angle shows the mount better.
Note the three bolts.

The underside of the mount. This is a very solid mounting option. Especially if you add a few drops of loctite to the bolts.

You can see here how relatively beefy the materials are. I don't see how I could break this and still have a functional weapon!

And here a shot of the finger position, using the rifle as a right-handed shooter. I can also hit the button shooting from the left shoulder.

The Olight mount is not sexy. It isn't svelte and it most certainly wasn't designed by Apple.
But it works, it's cheap and it's solid. You can find these online for about 20 bucks. I think that's exceedingly reasonable!
