One of the biggest things that a lot of people complained about when the WML was released was that you had to use the On-button to change modes. In my use of it, I've not personally found that to be an issue, but I can certainly understand the desire to keep the manual of arms as simple as possible. INFORCE has now stepped up to the plate by listening to their customer's wishes and have made the WML available in a momentary only version.
While the INFORCE website has not yet been updated with this info, the word from INFORCE is that this new model will be a permanent and full production model variant.
This new option does introduce a few specification changes, notably, the low output setting goes away. The high setting remains the same with the white light output at 125 lumens.
As I've mentioned before in my original review of the WML, the lever to switch between white light and IR has been altered as well, discarding the original flat surface with parallel lines and replacing it with a triangular hump, reminiscent of the raised hump on an M4-type safety lever. This was done primarily to make switching more positive and easier to accomplish while wearing gloves.
As for any changes in pricing, I've not seen any info on yet, but I would expect it to be the same, as the hardware is essentially unchanged and it is largely a question of programming the light engine for the desired modes.
Seeing a large company like INFORCE respond so quickly to customer requests really does warm the cockles of my heart. It's an increasingly rare thing these days and this obvious dedication to taking care of their customers makes me feel even better about recommending their products wholeheartedly.
That the WML is also one of the most well-designed weaponslights on the market only sweetens the pot.
I simply can't wait to see what INFORCE does with their rumored pistol-specific weaponslight!
